Chris Georgiou is a highly-regarded and respected criminal defence lawyer, specialising in serious and complex cases, with 20 consecutive years of experience in criminal and regulatory law, qualifying as a solicitor in 2000, and later as a Higher Court Advocate in 2006.
His heavy weight practice includes defending allegations of murder, fraud, money laundering, sexual offences, serious organised crime, health and safety breaches, corporate manslaughter, regulatory offences and motoring offences.
Chris was a Partner at a leading criminal law firm for almost a decade and has headed and managed criminal departments for most of his career as a solicitor and advocate.
As a solicitor, Chris has represented clients at police stations and local authorities Nationwide, providing expert advice to clients facing formal questioning and fearlessly representing their interests both before and, where necessary, after formal court proceedings have been instituted.
As an advocate, he has appeared in all three Divisions of the High Court and has successfully represented a large number of clients before the magistrates’ court, Crown Court and the Court of Appeal, including a successful appeal against sentence before Lord Justice Levenson.
Chris has worked alongside some of the leading criminal and defamation lawyers of the day including Nigel Lithman QC, now HHJ Lithman QC, John Coffey QC, Edward Garnier QC (former Shadow Attorney General) and Ken Macdonald QC (former Director of Public Prosecutions).
